During operation, a PPTC resettable fuse undergoes thermal expansion of its polymer material. If the fuse is installed in a way that subjects it to significant external pressure, this natural expansion may be restricted. As a result, the fuse may fail to provide effective protection under specified fault conditions. It is therefore important to avoid installing the fuse in locations where its expansion is constrained.
